Michael cast my horoscope over 30 years ago, and while interpreting it, ignited my interest in how this complex system of constant movement of celestial bodies in space can be organized in a logical predictive way such that it can be used to learn who we are. Subsequently, I took Astrology classes from Michael, where I learned about the players - the Planets, Sun, Moon, and the regions of space through which these bodies travel. As is true of any study, after you learn about the components, the more challenging task is to understand the relationships between them. Michael always astounded me with the ease in which he could not only interpret a Birth Chart, but teach others how to use Astrology - always for the purpose of knowing ourselves. He once said that using Astrology only to foretell the future not only trivializes Astrology but is a mis-use of this knowledge in ways akin to the old "making gold from lead" chicanery. Rather Astrology is at its glory when we use it to understand ourselves and our relationships to other humans and the Earth.

Having found a teacher in Michael, learning about astrology has been fun. Michael has a way of presenting this ancient study in down to earth terms and with a great sense of humor and play. Michael teaches from a base of his decades of study and his understanding of the many schools of thought. I have been a pessimist for as long as I can remember. Growing up an athlete, negative thinking is not out of the norm. Don't get me wrong. I have a positive outlook on several aspects of life.
