Celebrity Horoscopes

The horoscopes of celebrity's are normally very easy for an astrologer to read because, unlike most of us, they seem to have the desire and ability to live every breath of their horoscopes to the fullest. Please understand that they were not "fated" to become celebrity's. Let me assure you that there is very little in a horoscope that is "fated". What your horoscope actually contains is your many potentials. Potentials that you may or may not use as you see fit. This is because you were born with the free will to use any or all of your many potentials whenever you wish to use them.  From my experience, what makes our celebrity's so successful at what they do is that they actually use all of the potential attributes of their horoscopes to become, for good or ill, the Celebrity's that they are. They instinctively know that to accomplish their dreams and desires they must use all of their horoscope to its fullest and they must do it at the first real opportunity.  If you would like to know what your potentials are, when the best time to display them is and how to use your horoscope to its fullest to enjoy all that you can be, a consultation with a real astrologer that will address your specific concerns and not some computer generated pseudo reading is available. A good title for this article would be Roseanne and The Saturn Cycle.  As stated last week, I wanted to find a celebrity who, unlike  Britney Spears, had completed a couple of Saturn Cycles to demonstrate the power and simplicity of this important predictive technique. I see that comedian Roseanne is back in the news which, by itself, qualifies her for inclusion in this weeks edition of Celebrity Horoscopes. But, before we discuss Rosie, let's talk about the horoscope itself and Saturns role as it transits the chart.

As the planets orbit the Sun they will travel in a counter clockwise direction around the horoscope moving in order through the houses of your birth chart. They set through the chart in sector A, bottom out and become involved with new beginnings and endings in sector B, rise more dramatically in Sector C advancing you in your pursuit of accomplishment, and then attempt to maintain what was achieved while in sector D.  Each planet is true to its essential nature and will apply its energies to the affairs of the house that it is currently transiting.
The natural 28 - 30 year cycle of Saturn causes it to be the ideal planet to begin a long-term examination of the conditions of our lives. In addition, we are able to learn from this planet because it will repeat itself in the same positions twice and possibly three complete times in a typical life span. Because of its speed, and the fact that it concerns itself with responsibility, ambition, security, self-preservation, authority, ambition and timing, it will deal directly with your material rise and fall in life as it transits your horoscope.
Saturn's position in your birth chart, as are the positions of all the planets, is determined by the time of your birth. From that moment on it is slowly going about its business of traveling around the Sun and through the houses of your horoscope. As Saturn is rising - that is moving from the fourth house of beginnings and endings through the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth houses - you will find that you are becoming a more responsible and ambitious person. As a result, you will slowly but surely be rising in life in a distinctly material way. This is especially true when Saturn is transiting your seventh, eighth and ninth houses bringing you to a peak of accomplishment as Saturn transits your tenth house. When Saturn is falling or setting in your chart - transiting the eleventh, twelfth, first, second and third houses of your chart - you will find that your life will be setting or falling. Conditions will, at that time, be more problematical. This is especially true when Saturn sets below the horizon and transits the first, second and third houses of your horoscope coinciding with your slow material fall. As Saturn bottoms out and enters the fourth house of beginnings and endings the individual will begin orienting themselves in new directions which will eventually improve their lot in life as Saturn again begins rising in their horoscope. All this material rising and falling is associated with very slight shifts in your sense of timing, ambition and desire for status and security, which are all associated with how we perceive the attributes of Saturn as he rises and falls in our horoscopes.
Now let's reflect on the Saturn Cycle for a moment. Suppose you are an average person with the normal amounts of fears and reasonable ambitions. You have many responsibilities in your life. Your concerns include career advancement, your children's dental problems, your diet, your cars needed repairs, the gray hairs you just noticed, your cats veterinarian bills, your spouses health, what you are going to wear at the party, your best friends newest problem and what is going to be on television tonight. In other words you are a very busy person. The very last thing you are aware of is the slow but relentless 28 to 30 year march of Saturn in your horoscope. But if you were to call a time out and examine the long term conditions of life you would easily see how you and everyone else on this planet has risen and fallen exactly as the planet of responsibility and ambition has risen and fallen in their charts. The harder you apply yourself during Saturn's rise cycle the greater will be your advancement. The more responsible and self-protective you are during Saturn's setting cycles the easier and gentler will be your fall. Taking advantage of the knowledge gained by simply observing your planetary cycles is just one reason why we say that astrology has the ability to empower us all.
In the horoscope of comedian Roseanne as seen below, natal Saturn is located in her eighth house. She hits her peak of accomplishment (Saturn in the tenth) at about age three. Saturn then crosses her ascendant and begins the obscure phase at age 10. It then moves on to enter her fourth house of beginnings and endings at age 19 as it begins her First Rise. Saturn moves on into sector C of Public Rise at age 25 and enters her tenth house of peak accomplishment for the second time in 1985 at the ripe old age of 33. Now in the Reward Phase it begins its long slow journey to the ascendant where it arrived in 1993. At that time she was 41. Saturn then moved on down into the obscure phase until it arrived at the fourth house of new beginnings and endings in 2001 at the age of 49. Now, let’s see how Roseanne followed her Saturn Cycle.

Rosie was in her obscure phase between the ages of 10 and 19. Did she have problems then? According to her she did. She quit high school and got married as a teenager to leave what she saw as a dysfunctional family life. While some family members scoff at her allegations of sexual abuse, it would be more than true that with natal Mars in her twelfth house of sorrow and loss and self undoing, she would see those times as having been restrictive and problematical, especially in matters that involved sex. During her First Rise phase she was busy giving birth to, and raising, three little children. Roseanne was more than occupied doing all the things a young mom does while Saturn was slowly moving through her First Rise sector. Life went on as Saturn kept rising until it entered her Public Rise phase. When that occurred she found herself living in Denver and employed as a waitress. Her claim to fame in those days was that she smarted off to her customers and most thought she was pretty good at it. In fact, they thought she was actually pretty funny and her customers loved it. With Saturn rising she was feeling more confident and ambitious and so, with no real experience in being anything but a waitress and a mom, she applied to be a stand up comedian. With Saturn rising she caught a few breaks and went on to travel to comedy clubs. With Saturn deep in the Public Rise sector, Roseanne began to gain a reputation for being a very funny and upcoming comedian. Saturn finally reached the top of her chart in 1985. This time in her life should have corresponded with some sort of a peak of accomplishment. Did it? You bet it did. As Saturn entered her tenth house in 1985 she was given a guest spot on television and she absolutely wowed them. This was immediately followed with a Rodney Dangerfield special on HBO. Soon, she was on The Tonight Show and followed that with her own HBO special. 1985 was actually the year Roseanne arrived and, according to her Saturn Cycle, she was right on time. By 1988 Saturn was deep in her Reward Phase. She launched her own TV show and it was one of the most watched television programs for a number of years. But Saturn was sliding down her chart and it finally arrived at her ascendant in 1993. It is interesting that in 1992 she was named the most powerful woman in television and by that time she had also written two books and had appeared in a few movies. Then she won an Emmy in 1993 for being the funniest female in television. It makes sense that she would enjoy a second peak of power in that year because, as we said earlier, that is so often the norm with Saturn on the ascendant. This is particularly true if the past few years have been bountiful as they were in her case. She then expanded her empire by co-producing a new television program that year but unfortunately Saturn was on the decline and it all went up in smoke two years later. Now in her obscure phase The Roseanne Show was canceled. Still feeling her oats, and refusing to accept the fact that she was in her Obscure Phase, she developed a talk show. On this show she was at her outrageous best. But the public was tired of that old song and dance and low ratings soon drove the show off the air. At that time, with Saturn deep in her Obscure Phase, she pretty much disappeared from the public eye.  Saturn entered her fourth house of new beginnings in 2001 and right on schedule, she turned her attention in a new direction. In the summer of 2003, she took on the dual role of hosting a cooking show called Domestic Goddess although food poisoning and an emergency appendectomy brought a premature end to that project.  Saturn crossed her descendant beginning another Public Rise Phase in September of 2005 and, sure enough, in 2005 she returned to stand-up comedy and began touring the world. In February 2006, Roseanne performed her first-ever live performances in Europe as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival. She also released her first kids' DVD, Rockin' with Roseanne: Calling All Kids, that same month. With Saturn rising again, Roseanne's return to the stage culminated in an HBO Comedy Special, Roseanne Barr: Blonde N Bitchin', which aired November 4, 2006, on HBO.  Two nights earlier, she had returned to prime-time TV with a guest spot on NBC's My Name is Earl, playing a crazy trailer park manager. On January 11, 2007,  it was announced that Roseanne would be the host of season three of The Search for the Funniest Mom in America and began a radio talk show.
And so, with Saturn again in her Public Rise Phase, (today it is at 21degrees of Virgo in her seventh house) Roseanne is back and materially rising again. And she is a long, long way from being done. In early winter of 2011 transiting Saturn will be conjunct her natal Saturn allowing us an opportunity for a prediction. The chief proponent of the Saturn Cycle says that,  "When Saturn, by transit, is conjunct its natal position a wiping out of the past occurs, with a new lease on life for the future."  so, while still rising Roseanne will want to advance her cause by going in a new direction.  At that same time transiting Jupiter will be conjunct Uranus in her second house of money bringing sudden and unexpected opportunities for financial gain. How convienent.  Furthermore, transiting Mars will be conjunct her natal Sun infusing her with the energy to make a new start. As a result of these transits, it is my opinion that we are just now seeing a return of Roseanne and that somewhere between the fall and winter of 2011 Roseanne will begin not just a new project, but will go off in a new direction and that she will be more than successful at it as Saturn will still be rising in her chart not cu,minating at her midheraven until Octoner of 2015. If you are a fan of comedian Roseanne you can be sure that she will be coming back, in a big way. But, like the rest of us, she has risen and fallen in exact synchronization with her Saturn Cycle. It’s just that simple. We all follow our Saturn Cycle and Roseanne was no exception. Neither are you. Neither is anyone else. Astrologers love to make predictions. It is a tool we can use to "prove" the merit of our art. In our zeal we use Transits, Secondary Progressions, Solar arc Directions, a great number of Symbolic Directions and both Solar and Lunar Returns. But it is the simplest of systems, the Saturn Cycle, that  is all anyone really needs to map out and predict, with a fair amount of accuracy, the material rise and fall of our lifes experience here on Earth. It is simple, powerful and accurate. It is the first system any student should learn. For more information about the Saturn cycle and its relationship with key planets in your horoscope I highly recommend Astrology for The Millions by Grant Lewi. It has been the definitive work on this subject since 1940 and is still a best selling astrology book today almost 70 years after its first printing.
