Celebrity Horoscopes

The horoscopes of celebrity's are normally very easy for an astrologer to read because, unlike most of us, they seem to have the desire and ability to live every breath of their horoscopes to the fullest. Please understand that they were not "fated" to become celebrity's. Let me assure you that there is very little in a horoscope that is "fated". What your horoscope actually contains is your many potentials. Potentials that you may or may not use as you see fit. This is because you were born with the free will to use any or all of your many potentials whenever you wish to use them.  From my experience, what makes our celebrity's so successful at what they do is that they actually use all of the potential attributes of their horoscopes to become, for good or ill, the Celebrity's that they are. With Christmas fast approaching, I am going to be out of town for a while and will not return until after the holidays.  For the last three weeks this column has discussed the Saturn Cycle in the horoscopes of Hillary Clinton, Britney Spears and comedian Roseanne. In keeping with our predictive theme I am now going to resurrect the horoscope of Barack Obama which I ran the week after the Democratic Convention in Denver. It illustrated the Secondary Progressions that would be in effect on election day Nov 04, 2008.  This chart will remain up until I return from my holiday activities.                                              Obama's Presidential Journey
A quick synopsis of Barack Obama tells us that he i s the first African American  to be nominated by a major political party for president. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review.  Obama worked as a community organizer in Chicago and practiced as a civil rights  attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate  from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law  at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the US House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. After a primary victory in March 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the Senate in November 2004 with 70 percent of the vote. Obama announced his presidential campaign in February 2007, and was formally nominated at the 2008 Democratic National Convention  with Delaware senator Joe Biden  as his running mate.
Now that the introductions are out of the way let's take a look at his horoscope to see if simple, basic astrology can tell us if Barack Obama will be the next president of the United States. I am going to progress his horoscope using one of astrology's most common predictive techniques, Secondary Progressions.  In Secondary Progressions the astrologer looks up the position of the planets for the day of birth. They then count one day for each year of life and note the positions of the planets for that day. So, in Secondary Progressions the formula is one day equals one year. It is based on the idea that one revolution of the earth (one day) has a correlation with one cycle of the earth around the Sun. (one year) Astrologers like to say that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm. By this system we could examine the 22nd year of life by looking at the positions of the planets 22 days after birth. The 34th year of life would correlate with the 34th day after birth and so on. An astrologer would make a horoscope for that date and compare it with the birth horoscope. Because we are looking at small amounts of time, the planets don't move too very far from their birth or natal positions.  But when they have moved enough to make aspects to the birth planets, the effects can be very strong. Very strong indeed. In addition, we can look at the current position of the planets, called the transits, and compare them to both the natal and the progressed planets. Above is the progressed horoscope of Barack Obama. The inner horoscope is his birth chart and the outer circle indicates the positions of his planets progressed to November 04, 2008. The first thing I see is that the Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus have all progressed to form aspects with the midheaven or top of his horoscope. That is 40% of the entire horoscope forming an aspect with a point that deals with ones aim in life, status, honor, fame and reputation. 40%. That is more than a lot.  In addition, the progressed Sun and progressed Jupiter are each exactly sixty degrees from the midheaven. According to Ebertine one could interpret the natal midheaven at the midpoint of progressed Sun and Jupiter as "luck in ones enterprises." Sounds like a good aspect to have on election day. And there is more. Let us not fail to notice the progressed position of his Moon very near the ascendant. Because the Moon is the fastest moving celestial body it will move through the progressed horoscope at a rate of about one degree per month. Therefore it will completing one revolution around the horoscope approximately every 28 years. In Barack Obama's life the Moon has made one and three quarters revolutions around his horoscope and is now very near his ascendant. In fact, on November 04th it is only 2 degrees away from forming a conjunction with his ascendant. At one degree per month it will be there two months from November 4th or in early January 2009. This is very significant.  January is when the new president will raise his hand and swear to uphold the constitution as he takes official possession of the presidency of the United States of America.  
As was written on these pages just a few months ago, Barack Obama began his political career back when his progressed Moon was conjunct his natal Sun.  This is very significant. When two planets form a conjunction they begin a cycle. That cycle progresses until the opposition aspect at which time the event that began at the conjunction comes, for good or ill, to completion.  As the Moon progressed in Barack's horoscope he began to climb the ladder of political success. When the progressed Moon was in an opposition aspect to his natal Sun, Barack won the nomination of his party for president. We also predicted at that time that not only would he beat Hillary Clinton but that the opposition aspect is usually poor for ones health and that he would become sick or ill that month. Sure enough, he caught a cold and became ill as he completed his rise to political dominance exactly on schedule.
Now, with 4 planets activating the highest point in his horoscope he is on the verge of winning the presidency itself. And he will. Easily. And 2 months from then when he raises his hand and takes the oath of office the progressed moon will be exactly conjunct his ascendant beginning another major new cycle.  It is well known that when the Moon by progression conjuncts the ascendant a new cycle begins in the life. It is an important time of change. A change in residence, a change in ones relationships and a change in ones position in life accompany's this aspect. So, with progressed Sun, the most powerful celestial body in any horoscope, Jupiter, the most beneficial planet, Venus the next most beneficial planet  and Uranus, his ruling planet, all indicating the opportunity for advancement in life, predicting a win for Obama, by his horoscope is actually rather easy. There are other systems of prediction but they all have the same outcome. Barack Obama will be the 44th president of the United States of America. But all is not good. The economy is in the tank. The future is bleak, property values are circling the drain and the opposition party which will be decimated by the election will very much want to get back the power they just lost.  It will not be be an easy presidency. But, if ever we needed a brilliant leader, one with vision, a strong work ethic and the audacity of hope, it is now.
Barack Obama went on to win his election by a huge margin and is now preparing to take the reins of government. When I return from the holidays I will begin with a horoscope cast for the moment of his inauguration. It will tell us much about trials and tribulations of his presidency. With the powerful aspects due in 2009 and 2010 between Pluto, Saturn and Uranus, the 44th president of the United States will have many difficulties to deal with. President Barack Obama has said that his political hero and role model is Abraham Lincoln who was president during the civil war. How President Lincoln dealt with the adversities of his time is what made him the greatest president in our country's history. Barack will have his difficulties and how he handles them will determine his legacy.
