I first became enamored with the sweet science of the stars back in the late 1960's. Since then I have had the opportunity to read the horoscopes of many hundreds of star-touched men and women. Their basic personality traits, talents, hopes, wishes, skills and fears were all clearly evident as were numerous events and circumstances past, present and future. These incidents ranged from marriage, birth and divorce to career changes, pay raises and falling in love. The more mundane circumstances of life such as health conditions, plumbing problems and speeding tickets were also readily apparent. Astrology has even allowed me to predict matters as worldly and diverse as political elections, the stock and commodities markets and virtually every major sporting event you can imagine including the Kentucky Derby and footballs annual Super Bowl. In fact, I make these kinds of predictions every day right here on this site. So could any competent astrologer with an interest in such matters. With a little training, so could you. I should think you would find that to be a rather intriguing prospect.

Ralph Waldo Emerson defined it as, "Astronomy brought to Earth and applied to the affairs of man" . I like that definition. But, the word astrology itself is actually derived from two Greek words, Astra meaning Star and Logos meaning Logic or Reason. Astrology is most accurately defined as reasoning by the stars. Astrologers do this by making and reading a natal horoscope. The word natal is a Latin word meaning birth while horoscope is a combination of the Latin word Ora meaning hour and the Greek word Scopos meaning to view. So, when an astrologer is "reading" your natal horoscope they are actually viewing the positions of the celestial bodies at the hour of your birth and making conclusions that are based on thousands of years of observation.
